Down To Box empowers individuals with Down syndrome by equipping them with tools to enhance their coordination, self-defense, and physical fitness through boxing techniques.
Down to Box offers a tailored curriculum for individuals with Down syndrome, aimed at developing their fine and gross motor skills to improve both their physical and mental well-being. The program teaches participants techniques that boost their confidence while enhancing their athletic abilities. Additionally, weekly boxing sessions function as a social gathering for participants, allowing them to connect with peers and build friendships.
Founded in 2018 by Lauren Camp and Jonathan Gainey, Down to Box emerged from the recognition of a need for more programming for adults, particularly those with Down syndrome and other disabilities, that integrates boxing techniques into a fun group exercise environment. Down to Box is committed to creating training programs that teach boxing skills and promote a more active and healthier lifestyle for all.
